Day 7

6/30/2007

Or - the push to Valdez.

Saturday morning started bright and rainy. Just the way I like it. Fewer bugs to scrape off the windshield.

It really wasn't our intention to go all the way from Kluane Lake. It just worked out that way and I'm getting ahead of myself.

First, we had a few hundred KM with many signs like this.

That meant something like this was coming.

Near the US/Canada border, was spotted this helicopter dropping water on forest fire.

We crossed the border and made our way to Tok for fuel and made a few phone calls. Cell phones work in Tok. First time in 3 days. Then on to Glennallen to camp. Well, did you know it was Saturday? Did you know it was a holiday weekend? Well it is... It's a great feeling not knowing way day it is when away from work and school. Since it was our original plan to head to Valdez tomorrow, and it's only a little over 100 miles, Sondra got on the phone and called RV parks in Valdez. She scored. So, back in the cab of the truck and head South.

Ok, so maybe I don't have picture placement figured out here at Blogger.com It works ;+)

Sunday, we are hoping to catch up with our cousin with the commercial fishing boat. He is busy fishing and and this will probably be the only chance to see him

Total mileage for the day - 483. Total to date - 2,386
